Jahrelang baute ich in Strukturen, die andere entworfen hatten. Funktional. Ertragreich. Hohl.
Ich glaubte, ein Business aufzubauen. In Wahrheit suchte ich einen Ausweg.
Jamaika hat dieser Suche eine völlig neue Richtung gegeben. Ich reiste nicht als Tourist dorthin. Ich fuhr hin, um etwas zu finden — ich wusste damals selbst noch nicht was. Was ich fand, war Hurrikan Melissa.
„Ich sah keine Opfer. Ich sah Menschen, denen alles genommen wurde — und die sich bereits wieder aufrichteten, bevor die Sturmwolken sich verzogen hatten.“
Die Rasta-Communities, die ich nach Melissa traf, besaßen materiell nichts mehr. Und doch — die Geschwindigkeit, die Würde und die Tiefe, mit der sie sich einander zuwandten, teilten, aufhalfen — hat etwas in mir abgetragen, das sich über Jahre verkalkt hatte.
Ich kam als ein anderer Mensch zurück. Budborn ist kein Produkt zum Skalieren. Es ist etwas, das den Menschen, die es erreicht, wirklich dient.
